Facilitators

David Brown
MNCPS(Acc) MSfDBT

After a fulfilling career as a qualified counsellor since 1993, I have now retired from clinical practice but continue to focus on my passion for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Having witnessed the evolution of mental health therapies over three decades, I remain a firm believer in the power of DBT skills to transform lives—a belief rooted in both professional training and personal practice.

After taking some time to recharge post-retirement, I wanted to create a safe community space for those navigating their DBT journey. Whether you are new to the concepts or have been practicing for years, this forum is designed for you.

My experience with DBT began with intensive training in 1999 and 2010, eventually leading me to participate in establishing dedicated DBT teams within the NHS and Addictions Services.

Today, I am moving away from the role of a traditional therapist to facilitate a supportive environment where we can share successes, troubleshoot challenges, and master the DBT Skills in the Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance and Interpersonal Effectiveness modules together.
